The Grih Kalyan Kendra (GKK)

The Central Government looks after the welfare of a large number of employees spread all over the country. The Welfare Division of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India provides and aids a large network of staff welfare programmes.

The Grih Kalyan Kendra (GKK), which is a welfare Society set up by The Ministry of Home Affairs, functions under the aegis of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. The main objective of the Kendra is to help the needy employees, especially covering the women and children, belonging to lower income groups, and their dependents. It helps them to fulfill the financial and psychological need of temporary rehabilitation, by providing them training and experience during their leisure time in certain crafts and activities.

Activities:

The GKK has been running the following activities in 44 Samaj Sadans (29 in Delhi and 14 outstations; 4 at Mumbai, 4 at Chennai, 3 at Bangalore, two at Nagpur, one each at Kolkata, Jaipur, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Dehradun) and 14 welfare centres in Delhi and 10 welfare centres outside Delhi.
